The ‘What Sparks Joy’ campaign was inspired by the new Spark City Mongkok by Fairland Holdings. Our goal was to raise awareness and encourage people to find beauty in the ordinary things around us.

During our project, we offered workshops curated by Joanne Chan. Together we hope to bridge the barrier of using art in real estate and encourage creative placemaking. By connecting the real estate community, local artists, and nearby residents, we can create a platform that redefines a shared neighborhood identity.

Fairland Holdings continues to engage the Mong Kok neighborhood through co-creating the mural on the building facade and working with Hong Kong Art Centre on the RE: Tai Kok Tsui initiative.

Joanne Chan

Joanne Chan is a Hong Kong born artist with abstract, vibrant colour-field paintings inspired by her daily encounters and intuitive observations. She is passionate about engaging the community in her creative process and channelling that profuse energy into curated expressions.

Creating Impact Together

Through AIP (ULI Art in Place Hong Kong, a program of ULI Hong Kong), we hope to lower the barrier of entry to use art in real estate and encourage efforts on creative placemaking. By connecting the synergy of real estate and local artist communities, AIP aims to build a platform for a more inclusive neighborhood identity.

Our inaugural project featured Fairland Holdings’ Spark City in Mong Kok where we reached out to the community to find out ‘What Sparks Joy’ for the neighborhood.
